FAQ
Straight answers to the awkward questions
How long SEO really takes, what agency work costs, who owns your accounts at the end, and what The Nexclick will refuse to do. Every service page carries its own more specific questions — these are the ones that come up regardless of what you are buying.
Working with us
What size of business do you work with?
Mostly UK businesses between roughly two and two hundred people — big enough to have a real marketing budget, small enough that the person deciding is the person you speak to. The Nexclick also does specialist pieces for larger organisations where an in-house team needs a particular skill for a defined period.
Do you work outside London?
Yes, most of the work is outside London. The office is in Central London but delivery happens over calls and shared documents, so location makes no practical difference. There are dedicated pages for the major UK cities if you want to see local context.
Can you work alongside our existing agency or developer?
Often, and it works when the boundaries are written down at the start. A common split is The Nexclick handling search or AI while another team owns the site build. What does not work is two agencies both believing they own the same thing.
What will you not do?
Buy links from networks, generate fake reviews, run black-hat tactics that risk a manual action, or take on work we cannot do well. We also will not quote a number before looking at your accounts — a proposal written without data is a sales document.
Timescales and results
How long does SEO take to work?
Three to six months for meaningful movement on competitive terms, sometimes longer in crowded sectors. Technical fixes can show within weeks. Local map pack changes often show in six to twelve. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either guessing or churning clients.
How quickly do paid ads produce results?
Days, which is the point of them — but the first four to six weeks are largely learning. Early data is used to cut what does not convert. Judging a paid campaign on its first fortnight tells you almost nothing except whether the tracking works.
How long does a website take to build?
A straightforward marketing site is typically six to ten weeks from kick-off. Ecommerce and web applications run longer. The variable that slips timelines most often is not development, it is content sign-off — which is why we ask for a named decision-maker at the start.
Can you guarantee rankings?
No, and neither can anyone else honestly. Nobody controls Google’s index. What The Nexclick will do is tell you before starting whether the terms you want look winnable on your budget, and say so plainly if they do not.
Money and contracts
What does it cost?
Retainers start in the hundreds per month and projects in the low thousands, depending on the service area. Indicative starting points for each are published on the pricing page, and a real quote follows a call — because the same brief costs different amounts depending on what already exists.
Are we tied into a long contract?
Retainers run a rolling three-month initial term, then continue monthly with 30 days’ notice. Three months is the shortest window in which search or paid work generates enough data to judge fairly. Projects are milestone-based against a fixed scope.
Who owns the website, domain and ad accounts?
You do. Everything is set up in your name where the platform allows it, with The Nexclick added as a manager. If you leave, we remove our access and nothing moves. Assets are never built in a way that makes leaving difficult.
AI work
Is AI actually worth it for a small business?
Sometimes. It is worth it where there is a repetitive, high-volume task with a clear rule set — missed calls, first-line support, document handling. It is rarely worth it as a general upgrade. The Nexclick will measure the gap before proposing anything, and will tell you if there is not one.
Will an AI system replace our staff?
In the work we do, it usually catches what staff never had time to reach — out-of-hours enquiries, backlogs, overflow. Systems are built with explicit handover rules so anything sensitive, urgent or unusual goes to a person immediately rather than being handled badly by a model.
What about data protection and UK GDPR?
Any system handling personal data is scoped against your lawful basis, retention rules and data residency requirements before it is built, and documented so it can be shown to a regulator. Where a model provider is involved, what data leaves your systems is written down explicitly.
Question not answered?
Ask it directly. The Nexclick would rather spend twenty minutes telling you something useful than have you guess from a website.
